We are looking Senior Learning Support Assistant. who will enthusiastically and reliably support the progress and development of our students through high level academic support. The Senior LSA will work in partnership with class teachers and the SENCO, as part of the Learning Support Team, and in conjunction with the Safeguarding Team and Pastoral Team to support pupils with complex needs and to support their learning in line with the national curriculum, codes of practice and school policies and procedures

The Post
The Learning Support Assistant is a pro-active role that supports the implementation of the School’s Special Educational Needs policy supporting SEN students on a 1:1 basis in the classroom and providing targeted support outside the classroom in the Learning Support department. The tasks of a Learning Support Assistant vary due to changing needs of students and can include activities with small groups and working with teachers to monitor and support progress. The role is part of a small team working together under the leadership of the Learning Support Manager and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator.

Salary: Bucks Pay scale 2: FTE. - £21,879 - £23,961 (dependent on experience). Actual salary - £17,558 - £19,229.

We are looking for a pro-active and reliable Learning Support Assistant (‘LSA) who will apply their own GCSE, A-Level and undergraduate degree level subject knowledge as well as their enthusiasm and creativity to support the progress and development of our students. The LSA will supervise our Learning Support classroom where students with varying learning difficulties as well as mental health requirements gather throughout the day. The LSA will also deliver tailored support to students across the curriculum but in particular in Psychology; a popular subject in our high achieving girls grammar school. The LSA will assist with revision and catch-up work either one-to-one or in small groups and will provide students with strategies to help them build their confidence and improve their organisational, executive and time management skills. They will also be a listening ear for individual students and help them with anything that may be worrying them and/or holding them back from achieving their individual academic objectives. The SLSA will be applying their subject knowledge both in providing academic support as well as in providing pastoral support.
